Currently, AI's code generation capability has increased from "handling about 20% of the coding work" to "being able to complete about 80% of the code," indicating that AI is transitioning from a marginal tool to the dominant force in the development process. OpenAI's internal code generation tools like Codex have expanded from tools aimed at software engineers to serve "anyone who works with a computer." However, at this stage, OpenAI still requires that all submitted code must have human oversight and approval to avoid the risks associated with complete automation.
