PANews May 3 news, a certain crypto KOL posted on platform X questioning the safety of a "3" starting whale address related to Binance, that address is at the top of the Bitcoin rich list, holding over 200,000 BTC. The KOL is worried about large assets being concentrated in a single address, which poses a risk of private key collision and cracking.
In response, Binance founder CZ (Zhao Changpeng) directly replied: "The one starting with 3 should be multi-sig, right? It has to collide with more than 3 private keys? Trust in mathematics." Analysis points out that Bitcoin addresses starting with 3 are P2SH multi-signature addresses, which require multiple private keys to collectively authorize a transaction, common combinations include "2-of-3", "3-of-5", etc. Even if there is a theoretical possibility of private key collision, the actual probability of cracking is close to zero, and the security level is far higher than that of single-signature addresses.
